The Restore/Replace Panel in Source-Connect Talent: General Overview
This panel gives you a full overview of what files are being processed, what the result was, and allows you to fully manage your restore and replace processes.
Each time you establish a session, Source-Connect will create a new Session in the “Connections” section, which becomes visible as soon as your recording engineer requests a file to be processed. All files recorded during this particular session will be listed under this session, allowing you to manage your files per connection. A new session is created each time you connect with Source-Connect and you have Restore/Replace enabled. You can also uncheck “Hide inactive” and show all sessions that have cached data on your system, which is useful for deleting cached audio data for individual sessions that you know you do not need anymore.
In addition, there are four icons in the “Connections” section of the Restore/Replace panel:
- Active restore processes, either in progress or waiting. These have not yet been completed and are running in the background.
- Active data transfers. If there were, in fact, any packets lost during your call, Source-Connect will attempt to send them immediately. Source-Connect needs to remain open while the transfer is in progress.
- Completed restores or replaces. You can find more details if you go to the “Restore/Replace” tab in Source-Connect.
- Failed restore or replace processes. You can find more details if you go to the “Restore/Replace” tab in Source-Connect.
