Description
When users are using Source-Connect 4, the following messages pop up sporadically:
Causes
Bonjour is a service used by the Source-Connect I/O DAW plugin. This is an optional service that provides connectivity between Source-Connect and your DAW.
Bonjour is unsupported on some new versions of Windows because the owner of Bonjour, Apple, has not provided an official update. When Bonjour is installed on affected systems, you will get these errors when launching Source-Connect 4.
Actions
The workaround to fix this issue is to uninstall the Bonjour service. In order to uninstall the Bonjour service through the Control Panel:
- Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter.
- Look for Bonjour in the list of installed programs.
- If found, right-click it and select Uninstall. Follow the prompts.
- If not listed, check for Apple software (e.g., iTunes, iCloud) and uninstall them if no longer needed, as they might reinstall Bonjour.
Notice: Source-Connect I/O Daw plugin will not be operational
Because the Bonjour service is required by the Source-Connect I/O DAW plugin, affected systems will not be able to use the I/O plugin. Please contact our support team for alternatives.
