Session Status, Properties and Indicators in Source-Connect Studio/Facility
When the session is successfully established, the session properties are shown in the send and receive panels.
The send and receive controls are:
- Volume slider: allows you to adjust your send volume independently from your system settings.
- Volume meter: indicates your send volume in decibels. If the meter moves into the red area, the quality of the audio signal may become distorted and the quality degrade.
-
Mute button: mutes your input device, the button will change to orange when toggled.
- If the mute button is ON, the button will be RED.
-
Bitrate and sample-rate indicator.
- If the sample rate is different between connection partners, the sample-rate indicator will be RED.
- Input device and device channels: the hardware or virtual device being used to send sound. The device channels are the drivers or channels being used to send sound from your input device.
- Output device and device channels: the hardware or virtual device being used to receive sound. The device channels will be mono (single-channel audio), stereo (dual-channel audio), or surround (three or more channels of audio).
- Restore/Replace indicators: the indicators will let you know if any packet loss has occurred during the call, and if there are any ongoing restore/replace processes.
- Connection Settings: a gear button which allows you to open the Connection Settings panel during a call. You can update, among other things, the number of channels, the sample-rate you are using, buffer, and bitrate. Keep in mind that changing the sample-rate or the number of channels will require you to re-open the application.
