Description

Various issues can occur including the Source-Nexus I/O driver not being installed and not showing as an audio input or output device on the system, artifacts in the audio passing through the driver, or no audio passing through the driver at all (despite proper system microphone permissions).

Cause

Source-Nexus I/O Basic 1.1 uses an older version of the Source-Nexus I/O driver that is not fully compatible with macOS Catalina.

Actions

Installing the latest Source-Nexus I/O Free Driver (1.2.171), which is compatible with macOS Catalina, allows Source-Nexus I/O Basic 1.1 to function properly. See the following steps for the proper installation procedure, as it needs to be done it a specific order.

1. If Source-Nexus I/O Pro or Source-Nexus Control Panel is installed, they both need to be uninstalled first. Uninstallers are located in the installer dmg file.
2. Install Source-Nexus I/O Basic 1.1.
3. Install Source-Nexus I/O Free Driver 1.2.
