This page has a list of things you'll need to know before you start using Source-Connect.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We provide full phone support for everyone as they get started, so you don't need to be able to do all of these things yourself. Our support team is highly experienced and happy to help.
1. Make sure your computer is compatible
See the Compatibility section to make sure your computer is compatible. Every modern computer should be fine, though for best results we recommend at least 4GB RAM and a computer that is at the most 4 years old running Windows 10, macOS 10.15 or higher.
We strongly recommend using a Mac computer where possible.
2. You'll need an iLok for Source-Connect Pro X on Mac and Source-Connect Pro on Windows
What's an iLok? Once you have your iLok dongle, you'll be transferring your Source-Connect licenses at http://ilok.com. This is separate website and company from Source Elements. They take care of our licensing - when we give you a trial or purchased license, you'll need to visit their website and follow their instructions. They have some helpful videos on their website to get you up and running.
3. You'll need to be able to configure your network
While in many cases you can use Source-Connect right out of the box (once you have your iLok sorted, and the software installed), sometimes you'll be behind a firewall or complex router situation. If you're running Windows, your Anti-Virus protection or firewall settings may block Source-Connect. 4. Testing
Most of you will be able to get Source-Connect installed and connected without any hassles. However, if you have an unusual setup, or your audio drivers aren't playing nice, you want to get in touch with our Support team for testing and assistance. You can connect directly to Support within Source-Connect: just select a Support user in your Contacts panel and hit Connect. Check the Messaging panel for any feedback, as maybe we can't hear you and we're typing a message. You can also give us a call or send us an email at any time.
