How to configure Source-Connect Studio/Facility to send RTS via LTC and Logic Pro to send LTC
Follow the instructions below:
- In Source-Connect, click the “Send” button - it will turn green.
- In “TIME REFERENCE INPUT”, select “LTC” and “Source-Nexus A” as your input device.
- Select the appropriate FPS for your Logic Pro setting. By default, all projects will be set to 25FPS.
- On Logic Pro, go to Settings > MIDI.
- Under “Inputs”, make sure that at least “IAC Driver Logic Pro” is checked. You might have other inputs in the list - make sure the one you want to use is selected.
- In Logic, switch to the “Sync” tab. Configure the MIDI output delay, pickup delay, and other settings you might want to customize.
- In the “Sync” menu, click “MIDI Sync Project Settings”. By default, you will see Synchronization > MIDI open up. Check the “Clock” box and the “MTC” boxes if you want to send timecode in MTC. Make sure you select the clock mode you want - you can find more information on each clock mode in the Logic knowledge base.
- On the Logic main screen, click the dropdown arrow to chang the Display Mode to “Time”:
- Add Source-Nexus as an insert on the track where your LTC timecode is. For this example, we have dropped a sample LTC timecode in 25fps:
- Connect to your connection partner.
- Play the timecode in Logic Pro.
In the example below, Logic Pro is sending timecode using “Logic Pro Virtual In”, which is visible in the RTS tab of Source-Connect 4. User “Armel” is sending the RTS timecode:
The talent (Amber, who is on Source-Connect Studio) is receiving the timecode:
