Starting a 1-1 Session in Source-Connect Studio/Facility

After configuring your settings, select the online user you want to connect to, and click the “Connect” button to start your session. 

Once your connection partner joins the call, you will see the following indicators at the top of your screen:

1. The SEND level meter, which displays your send level. If the meter moves into the orange or red areas of the meter, you are likely to experience sound distortions and a lower quality of your signal.
2. The SEND peak hold: an indicator of the highest level caught by Source-Connect. In the case of stereo or surround, they will show up as single pixel dots.
3. The SEND volume fader: the volume fader that can be used to adjust the output level of the channel. The amount of gain applied is displayed in the level display under the volume fader.
4. The SEND clipping indicator: the red clipping indicator will stay red if there was any clipping in the audio you are sending to your connection partner.
5. The SEND mute button: clicking this button will mute the output of the SEND channel.
6. The RECEIVE level meter: displays your receive level. If the meter moves into the orange or red areas of the meter, you are likely to experience sound distortions and a lower quality of your signal.
7. The RECEIVE peak hold: an indicator of the highest level caught by Source-Connect. In the case of stereo or surround, they will show up as single pixel dots.
8. The RECEIVE clipping indicator: the red clipping indicator will stay red if there was any clipping in the audio you are receiving from your connection partner.
9. The RECEIVE volume fader: the volume fader that can be used to adjust the input level of the channel. The amount of gain applied is displayed in the level display under the volume fader.
10. The RECEIVE mute button: clicking this button will mute the output of the SEND channel.
11. The LEAVE button, in order to leave the call.
12. The CONNECTION TIME INDICATOR, in HH:MM:SS format, allowing you to know how long you have been on the call with your connection partner. 
13. The NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS on your call. 

Session Alerts 

Not staring at your monitor? Source-Connect will let you know with a brief aural alert when someone is requesting a connection. To have the alert repeat for 120 seconds, select ‘Repeat’. It will stop once any connection request made to you times out. If you prefer to switch this off, simply toggle the “On Connection Request” option.
