Setting up your Audio Input and Output in Source-Connect Studio/Facility 4.0
Source-Connect 4.0 has two methods to set audio I/O selection. Simply select the device to use for input and output in the Audio Options dropdown menu.
You can also choose to send audio directly to supported AAX, RTAS, VST and AudioUnit hosts with the Source-Connect Link. See this section for more information.
To record in a host such as Pro Tools or Logic, you will need to route the signal to and from Source-Connect to your DAW. You can use the Source-Connect DAW plugin provided, or Source-Connect also supports Source-Nexus for low-latency multi-channel links. You can also route the audio via any other device or external mixer, as you choose.
See the documentation for your DAW on the main Source-Connect support page, or contact our support team for assistance.
Recommended Defaults
Setting the bitrate at 128kbps mono, 256kbps stereo is the ideal setting for most voice situations as it requires the least resources, consumes less bandwidth and provides excellent audio quality. Lower bitrates provide easier transmission in less-than-ideal network situations. When sending many channels, lower bitrates will greatly reduce the chance of bad audio quality.
We recommend understanding your network resources as much as possible, as this allows you to achieve optimal results. Please refer to the following section for the minimum Source-Connect network requirements.
