How to configure Source-Connect Studio/Facility to send RTS via MTC and Cubase/Nuendo to send MTC
Follow the instructions below:
- In Source-Connect, click the “Send” button - it will turn blue.
- In “TIME REFERENCE INPUT”, select “MTC” and the name of your MIDI device ("Network DAW MTC/MMC Send").
- Select the appropriate FPS.
- In Cubase/Nuendo, go to Transport > Project Synchronization settings:
- Under “Sources”:
- Click “Activate External Sync”.
- In “Timecode Source”, click “Internal Timecode”.
- In “Destinations” > “MIDI Timecode Destinations”:
- Click the network driver you had created (in our case, “Network DAW MTC/MMC Send”).
- Check the box next to “MIDI Timecode Follows Project Time”.
- Under “Machine Control”:
- In “Machine Control Output Settings”, check “MMC Master Active”. Under “MIDI Output”, select “Network DAW MTC/MMC Send”.
- Under “Sources”:
- Once you are ready, go back to “Sources”, click “Start” under “Transport Start/Stop”. You will see the play button at the bottom of the screen go green.
In the example below, Cubase/Nuendo is sending timecode using “Network DAW MTC/MMC Send”, which is visible in the RTS tab of Source-Connect 4. User “Amber” is sending the RTS timecode:
