Quickstart Checklist for Source-Nexus Mute-On
This article is a quick guide, which does not include working with other Source-Nexus Suite or Source Elements products at the same time.
- If you haven’t already, make sure you request a Source-Nexus Suite full-featured trial the first time you drop the plugin on your DAW. You will be asked to create a new Source Elements account if you do not have one.
- Log into your account here and download the Source-Nexus Suite.
- Launch your DAW of choice. This quick guide will use Pro Tools as a reference.
- Add an audio track.
- Insert the “Source-Nexus Mute-On” (stereo, mono or surround, depending on your needs).
- In the plugin input widget, select the settings to be applied when your track is playing, when you are recording, when the track is idle, or when you have configured a specific keyboard or MIDI key.
- At the top of your plugin, select a sidechain/key input if you want to mix audio from a different source with the plugin’s input.
- Configure your Sidechain input settings for the different playback states.
- Finally, ensure that your plugin’s output settings have been configured as you desire.
- Press play on your Pro Tools track(s), as needed, when you are ready. If everything has been configured correctly, you will start seeing signal feeding into each of the plugin’s widgets. Play, record, stop or press a specific key to ensure that each playback state is working as you expect.
- Start your session.
