Error 157: IM local server error (<Error description>)

Description

When attempting to send a message to their connection partner while using VPN mode, users get an error message saying there has been an IM local server error.

Cause

The local server has stopped abnormally.

Actions

Send logs to tech support. You can find them by going to /<your user-home>/Library/Logs/Source-Connect.log
