Upgrading or Crossgrading from Source-Connect 3 to Source-Connect 4
If you already own Source-Connect 3, your move to Source-Connect 4 may be an upgrade or a crossgrade, depending on whether you stay in the same tier or move to a different one. This guide explains the difference, where to find your eligible offers, and which current store links match the most common Source-Connect 3.8 and 3.9 paths.
Upgrade vs. crossgrade
- Upgrade: you move from one version to another while staying in the same tier, such as Standard to Talent, Pro to Studio, or Pro X to Facility.
- Crossgrade: you move to Source-Connect 4 and also change tiers, such as Standard to Studio or Standard to Facility.
If you are not sure which path applies to your license, sign in to your Source Elements account and review your available offers first.
Where to find your upgrade offer
- Sign in to your Upgrades page in the Source Elements Dashboard.
- Open Products & Downloads.
- Select the Updates tab.
- Click the Upgrade button shown next to your eligible Source-Connect 3 license.
The User Dashboard is the best place to confirm your personal loyalty offer, especially if you own an earlier Source-Connect 3 license or bundle. Some store products include options for earlier versions after you log in, but the dashboard is the authoritative place to start.

- Standard 3.9 to Talent 4: Source-Connect Standard to Talent
- Standard 3.9 bundle to Talent 4: Source-Connect Standard to Talent
- Pro 3.9 to Studio 4: Source-Connect Pro to Studio
- Pro 3.8 bundle to Studio 4: Source-Connect Pro to Studio
- Pro X 3.9 to Facility 4: Source-Connect Pro X to Facility
Source Elements also lists earlier eligible Standard and Pro bundle licenses inside some of these store products, including 3.0, 3.2, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9, depending on the product and your account.

What happens after purchase
After completing your purchase, you will receive instructions by email to deposit your updated license. Legacy Source-Connect 3 customers who move to Source-Connect 4 are issued the new Source-Connect 4 license and an updated Source-Connect 3 license so you can continue using the legacy version when needed.
Important notes before you buy
- Source-Connect 4 does not connect directly with Source-Connect 3, so both sides of a session need to be on the same major version.
- An active Network Access plan is required to log in, use Source-Connect 4, and access support.
- If your license is older than 3.8 or 3.9, start from the dashboard Upgrades page to see the exact options attached to your account.
- Before purchasing, review the system requirements and compatibility for Source-Connect 4.
