Testing SYNC before a session in Source-Connect Studio/Facility
SYNC (formerly Remote Transport Sync, or RTS) can be tested before a session. This lets you confirm that Source-Connect receives timecode from your configured MTC or LTC source before you connect with another user.
Before you start
Open the SYNC tab in Source-Connect Studio/Facility and confirm the settings you need for your workflow:
- Time reference input: choose the MIDI driver or LTC source that will send timecode.
- Frames per second: make this match your DAW or timecode source.
- Offset and Freewheel: set these only if your workflow requires them.
- Time reference output: choose the MIDI destination if Source-Connect will send MTC.

Test SYNC
- Follow the relevant SYNC, LTC, and MTC quick-start guide to configure your DAW or timecode source.
- In Source-Connect, select the appropriate source and frame rate in the SYNC panel.
- Start playback in your DAW or timecode source, then click Send in Source-Connect.
- Confirm that timecode appears in Source-Connect. If it does, the input, frame-rate, and timecode path are configured correctly.
This test confirms your local SYNC configuration. For a remote SYNC workflow, one participant must be in SEND mode and the other must be in RECEIVE mode.
