**Please note that Se ReWire is 32-bit only for Source-Connect 3.x on Windows. To use it with Pro Tools 11 and higher (which are 64-bit) please use the 64-32 ReWire Bridge
Pro Tools 7 - 10
The most common issue with ReWire installer problems is due to permissions on the computer.
Reinstall Source-Connect
ReWire is included within Source-Connect. If you are experiencing any issues with ReWire, try uninstalling and reinstalling Source-Connect. This will reinstall the ReWire driver.
Rewire Activation Issues
If you are getting error #105 with ReWire it is generally an installation issue.
Windows and macOS: Test with another Application
- Download Reaper.
- Make a new track and click on the FX button.
- If you can see "Se ReWire" in the list, then Source Elements ReWire module is properly installed
Make sure that you have installed the correct version of Reaper: e.g for Source-Connect 3.8, use Reaper 32-bit. For Source-Connect 3.8 or higher, use Reaper 64-bit. Otherwise follow other instructions here.
macOS: Clean uninstall and reinstall
- Delete the folder: /Libary/Application Support/Propellerhead Software
- Delete the file: /Libary/Application Support/SeReWire.bundle
- Reinstall Source-Connect and the ReWire installer.
- Note: if you use ReWire for other purposes please backup your Propellerhead Software folder and replace files where needed.
macOS: Repair Permissions
Boot into Recovery Mode by holding down the Option key on restart and Repair Permissions. Reinstall Source-Connect and the ReWire installer.
macOS: Install error: check logs
- The install log can often tell us what the problem is
- Reinstall the ReWire installer and export the Install Log as shown here. Send this log to Support for analysis if it isn't clear 1o1you from reading it what it means.
macOS: Install error: No valid sudoers sources found
- The install log may indicate it is a "sudo", or "super user", issue. You may just need to repair "sudo"
- Reinstall Source-Connect and the ReWire installer.
Windows: Se ReWire does not show up in 64-bit DAWs
The Se ReWire plugin (necessary to use RTS) on Windows versions of Source-Connect 3.x is 32-bit only and thus will not show up in 64-bit DAWs such as Pro Tools 11 and higher. However, it is possible to use the ReWire 64-32 Bridge application to create a 64-bit version of Se ReWire which will make it usable in 64-bit DAWs. For more information and to download the application, please see ReWire 64-32 Bridge
Windows: Multiple instances of the ReWire.dll
If you continue to get error #105 with Windows, search your system for multiple instances of the ReWire.dll. These are usually found in the System32 folder.
If these solutions do not work, send an email to Support with the contents of your Install.log (macOS only) to further investigate. ReWire-related issues are always system-specific so you may wish to use another system, where available, while we gather more information.
