ERROR#509: Cannot open file, try again later
Source-Connect | Version 4.0 | All Operating Systems
Description
When performing a restore/replace, users get an inline error message saying “Cannot open file, try again later”.
Reason
The restore/replace process cannot be started because one of the following reasons:
- The file is open in another application - this is the most common reason for this error.
- The file is missing.
- The file is corrupted.
Actions
Do one of the following, depending on what is causing the issue:
- If the file is open in another application, you will not be able to start the restore/replace process. Before proceeding, make sure to complete the recording, and close any other applications that might be using the file in the background.
- If the file is missing, you will need to record a new file. Make sure to record a test file before doing a restore/replace process to ensure that your configuration is correct before starting.
- If the file is corrupted, you will also need to record a new file.
